Gay-Straight Alliance, Inc.
Because
the Board of Directors only meets for five (5)
consecutive days annually, it has established several
Board Committees that govern and supervise Federation
operations between Board Sessions.
The full
Board of Directors may be called into special session
when requested by the Secretary of the Federation on the
recommendation of the Federation President.
Executive
Committee
The
Executive Committee of Kentucky Equality Federation is
the senior committee responsible for the overall
management of the Federation between meetings of the
Board of Directors. The Executive Committee
exercises the full authority of the Board of Directors
under KRS 271B.8-010 with the exception of certain
matters that by law may not be delegated.
The
committee meets as necessary (but monthly at a minimum),
and all actions by the committee are reported at the
next Board of Directors meeting.

The
Executive Committee is authorized to exercise all of
the powers of the Board in the oversight of the
management of the business and affairs of the
Federation, including, without limitation, financial
matters.
Finance
Committee
The
Federation's Finance Committee is responsible for
developing and recommending long range financial
objectives.
In
addition, the Finance Committee is also responsible for:

Approving purchases of $500.00 or more.

Consults with the Office of Federation President and
other management on the annual budget process.

Reviews and makes recommendations on the annual
budget submitted by the Office of Federation
President.
General Advisory Council
The
Federation's Advisory Council consists of non-director
members to oversee the Federation's position on social
responsibilities, alliances, and issues of public
significance. The General Advisory Council is the
sole authority for determining the Federation’s short
and long-term political platform, goals, political
alliances, coalitions, and issues of public significance.
The
purpose of the General Advisory Council is to broaden
and enhance the sources of information and expertise
available to the Board of Directors, officers, and
management.
A member
of the Kentucky Equality Federation General Advisory
Council is appointed to hold the position based on
demonstrated involvement, support, and commitment to the
Federation. In accepting the two-year appointment, an
individual agrees to fulfill the requirements and meet
the responsibilities associated with board membership.

Incorporation, Kentucky Equality Federation's Board of
Directors serve as Class A Senior Members of the
Kentucky Gay-Straight
Alliance, Inc.
